July has been crazy. 

I have discovered so many new amazing board games and geeky interests that I feel like I’m overflowing with dopamine.

The photo of the stack of board games I took was at a nearby sports club that doubles as a Warhammer venue (not sure that’s the right word, lol) where they also have a massive collection of board games, much more than what’s shown in the photo.

The coffee cup was from a coffee shop that I went to during the week. (I had to fill up the space in my collage.)

I played a brand new game called Wingspan, which was absolutely amazing, even though I’m not a birder. Luckily, you don’t have to be one to enjoy the game!

The artwork is amazing, and the tactile sensation of playing with all the bits and bobs was amazing. Even better, you can play it with two people, and it was just as enjoyable as playing it with four people.

Next week I’m going to share some more of my new geeky addictions, starting with a few shots of a Warhammer game that I spectated! Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to work on my miniature, but I hope to get some painting done before the end of the month.

WRITING UPDATE

I wish I had better news, but unfortunately I had to pause work on my new series when I discovered I’d written myself into a massive plot hole…

Obviously, I’m glad that I spotted it sooner rather than later, but it does mean that I have to go back and start from scratch with plotting and writing.

I could be mad about it, but I have discovered so many amazing little gems for both the story and the characters that would never have existed if I’d stuck with the original plot. So while I’m not entirely happy that it happened, I think it is definitely going to lead to a much better series! 

I do tend to overcomplicate my plots, so I wish I could say this was an isolated event, but it has happened many times in the past. That’s how I end up not being able to finish a series, because I’ve written myself into such a plot hole, I have no idea how to get out of it!

So, as much as it hurts having to do it, I made the decision that I will need to go back and start from scratch to make sure that I can give you guys the five-book series that I have been promising.

In the meantime, I will keep you entertained with my weekend antics and try and give you as many teasers and bits of info about the books as I can without spoiling anything.
