I still had several questions about Thatcher’s time in Agony Hollow while I was working out the details of my new series.
Since I didn’t want to address them in my current WIP, and I couldn’t leave them unresolved either, I came up with ingenious solution.
Give Thatcher his own short story!
Not only can I introduce him as his own character, this will also give Lessons in Cruelty fans one last glimpse of Haven, Bastian, and Kai before I close the doors on Agony Hollow (possibly forever).

WIP UPDATE
I’m still hard at work on the new series!
I’ll be announcing the series name, hopefully along with book one’s title, in the next couple of weeks, as soon as I get my shit together.
(I’ve been a little bit distracted learning how to play Magic: The Gathering and actually taking weekends off for the first time in several years while trying not to feel super guilty about it…so…)

Pics or it didn’t happen
Now that I have a new phone that doesn’t keep overheating, I’ve been taking pictures whenever I spot something cool or pretty! (I’m not that good at remembering to share them with you, but that’s purely the perimenopause’s fault.)
I spotted some amazing pieces in an art gallery that kind of blew my mind. The one was a metal sculpture that completely changed depending on what angle you viewed it at. Hardcore.
Then there was the artwork of an iris flower which was already beautiful…until you stepped closer and saw the tiny torn off magazine prints on the petals.
I can’t imagine how long it took to find all those phrases, because I could tell they weren’t just random. The artist picked them very specifically for the message and color.
Then I saw some…other stuff.
The chrome puppies and comic-book cross-breed? Adorable!
The $$$ shoes (no price tag, so SQ I guess???)…wow. Just…wow.
Look, art is subjective. Footwear? It should be functional and, IMO, a little stylish. These were just…
It’s gotta be a joke, right?
Furry sneakers and whatever those plastic-blue-sock abominations are…no one’s seriously charging money for those, right?
Anyway, they gave me a good laugh, so I guess they were worth the trip inside the store.
